Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cochin and Transfer to Munnar

You will be picked up from Cochin Airport or Ernakulam railway station and driven to Munnar (a 4-hour drive). Along the way, enjoy some waterfalls and natural scenic spots. Upon arrival in Munnar, check into your hotel and relax for the rest of the day. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Munnar Sightseeing

After breakfast, spend the day sightseeing in Munnar. Located at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundale, Munnar is 1600 meters above sea level. This majestic hill station was once the summer resort of the British government in South India. Local sightseeing includes visits to Mattupetty Dam, Kundale Lake, and Echo Point. In the afternoon, proceed to Rajamalai to see the rare Nilgiri Thars (mountain goats). Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 3: Transfer to Thekkady and Sightseeing

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Thekkady (a 4-hour drive). Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Thekkady, home to one of the world's most fascinating wildlife reserves. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady spans 777 sq km, with 360 sq km of thick evergreen forest. Known for its geomorphology, wildlife diversity, and scenic beauty, the sanctuary was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Optional activities like boating on Periyar Lake, visiting a spice plantation, and elephant rides are available at an extra cost. Overnight stay in Thekkady.

Day 4: Transfer to Kumarakom

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Kumarakom. Check into the hotel and enjoy a leisurely day. Overnight stay at the hotel. You can explore the beautiful backwaters of Kumarakom with a houseboat cruise, visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary to spot various species of birds, or simply relax by the Vembanad Lake. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: Transfer to Kovalam/Trivandrum

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Kovalam or Trivandrum (a 4-hour drive). Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Kovalam is one of India's prime beach destinations. Enjoy the evening watching a spectacular sunset or swimming at the picturesque Kovalam Beach. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: Trivandrum Sightseeing

After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Trivandrum. Thiruvananthapuram, previously called Trivandrum, is an ancient city with traditions dating back to 1000 BC. This capital city of Kerala is a beautiful seaside metropolis built on seven hills, located on the west coast of India and spreading over 2,192 sq km. The sightseeing tour includes visits to Padmanabhaswami Temple, Srichitra Art Gallery, Napier Museum, and the Zoo. Overnight stay in Kovalam.

Day 7: Departure from Trivandrum

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Trivandrum Airport or railway station (depending on your departure point) for your flight or train back home, feeling content about the wonderful holiday you spent in God's Own Country.
